Northwest University of Political Science and Law held a 10-day short-term academic exchange program from September 16th to 26th for a delegation of visiting scholars from Tashkent State University of Law, Uzbekistan. The delegation is composed of four legal experts, including Professor Imomov Nurillo and Professor Khazratkulov Odilbek. During the visit, they engaged in collaborative talks, academic conferences, and keynote reports.
On September 18th, President Fan Jiuli met with the visiting delegation and awarded the Honorary Researcher Certificates of the China-Central Asia Ascertainment and Research Center to the visiting scholars.
Vice President Zhang Ronggang attended the cooperation meeting, as well as Heads of relevant Departments. Zhang Ronggang stated that, the two universities have achieved excellent results in joint student training, faculty exchange, and research cooperation in recent years. He hoped that both sides continued to strengthen efforts in areas such as China-Central Asia legal research, foreign-related rule of law research, and the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents, and promote deeper cooperation in legal education and research between China and Uzbekistan.
From September 18th to 25th, the School of Criminal Law, the School of Civil and Commercial Law, and the School of International Law organized a series of academic activities with the visiting delegation. At the School of Criminal Law, Professor Imomov Nurillo gave an academic presentation on The Framework of the Uzbek Criminal Law System. The School of Civil and Commercial Law held seminars on the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China. The School of International Law hosted an academic forum on Comparative Study on Legal Aid Between China and Uzbekistan.
During their visit, the delegation also visited the Xi'an Intellectual Property Court, the Belt and Road Research Base of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and the China-Europe Railway Express Xi'an Assembly Center for field research. This marked the active exploration of NWUPL in strengthening legal education and cultural exchanges with Central Asia.
