To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 74th World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, to undertake serving-people activities, the Red Cross Society of Shaanxi Province launched the Red Cross Week 2021 and comprehensive Red Cross emergency response training at the Yanta Campus of Northwest University of Political Science and Law (NWUPL), in collaboration with the Provincial Education Department, Xi'an Red Cross Society and the university. Zhang Junlin, deputy secretary-general of the provincial government, attended and open the Red Cross Week (Shaanxi). Jia Wei, vice president of Shaanxi Red Cross Society, presided over the ceremony.

Yang Zongke, president of NWUPL, and Guan Juzheng, executive vice president of the Provincial Red Cross Society, delivered speeches at the ceremony; Guan He, second-level inspector of the Provincial Education Department, and Sun Guohua, party secretary of the university, inaugurated the Red Cross Society of NWUPL; Xi'an Yuanquan Culture Communication Co. Ltd. donated 5 automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) to the University; all participants took the oath of “proud to join the Red Cross”.

100 postgraduates of NWUPL performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CRP).
The emergency rescue drill was performed to simulate the scenario of a university sports meeting. After the simulation drill, Red Cross first aiders demonstrated first aid techniques;
After the launching ceremony, the related persons in charge heard an introduction to the daily work of the university-level society and observed a simulated operation of AEDs by its volunteers.
On the site, the Provincial Red Cross Society also informed the audience of Red Cross emergency rescue drill, humanitarian aid programs, blood stem cell donation, and blood donation and address their concerns.
Participants include leaders from the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, Shaanxi Daily, the Provincial Red Cross Society, Xi'an Red Cross Society, etc and over 1000 student volunteers from Northwest University of Political Science and Law, Xi'an Aeronautical University, etc. During the Red Cross Week 2021, to communicate the idea of “Ready to Care” and encourage actions for public good, the provincial Red Cross Society plans to organize province-wide participation in the first-aid knowledge competition.
